17th January

I want to learn to play Music Keyboard, I have got my Keyboard but I haven’t got any tuition books yet, Which websites can I use to get me started?
Thanks

I’ve recently started learning a new instrument and I love it!!! There are so many sites you can learn from. Try these to start with:

http://www.bgfl.org/bgfl/custom/resources_ftp/client_ftp/ks2/music/piano/index.htm
http://gardenofpraise.com/keybdles.htm

If you want to find other sites that offer you help on playing the keyboard, why not try googling it? Have fun!!!

Will my possible salary be worth the high tuition? Berklee School of Music (Producer/Session Guitarist)?

14th January

I might be going to Berklee music school, but I’m wondering if it is worth the cost. After financial aid, my 4 year total will be around $100,000. I might possibly get a scholarship ranging from $4,000 – $8,000 a year, which would lower me to $68,000 – $84,000. I will have a major in both Music Production/Engineering and Music Management/Business. I also plan on doing side jobs as a session guitarist and maybe even having some original solo projects or band projects. I also plan on staying in Boston. Besides the original projects, do you think that I would make enough as a producer and session guitarist (with management potential) for this to be worth it?
Not a film producer. Music.

a LOT of musicians learn to really LIKE mac and cheese 3 times a day.

it is s tough life, and the pay can sometimes suk.

How much is Stanford University’s tuition?

27th December

I’m really planning to go there when I’ll go to college. The problem is, many people said that Stanford University is a high class college. So right now I want to know exactly how much and what is the tuition.Do you need to be good at sports, music, above a 4.0 grade point average, anything so that you would get a scholarship? PLEASE ANSWER!!!THNX!!!!!

It costs $37,380 a year. It’s pretty hard to get into Stanford, but its definitely possible. I was considering going there, & my counselor said that if I applied, I could probably get in. My GPA is 4.8/5.0. Stanford also gives out scholarships based on your academic merit & class rank, but you have to be one of the top students in the nation to eligible for these awards. For example, I think you might be eligible for some type of scholarship if youre ranked in the top 5% of your class. Like you said, they also give them out for being good at sports, music, etc, but those are only a few ways to get a scholarship. They might even offer you a scholarship based on your application essays or SAT or ACT scores

Can music majors receive scholarships to buy a new instrument?

16th December

I’m a bassoonist, and have made the district, all state, and youth orchestras in my state. The only problem is I’m dirt poor, and have a polypropelene bassoon. I’d like to be able to buy a new wooden bassoon for college (ranging from 6 to 17 grand, depending on what i can get), is there any way that music majors can recieve scholarships to put towards an instrument instead of tuition?

I believe you can use scholarships for anything school related… At least, that’s how all of mine have been… I’ve used portions of them to pay for my apartment and bills, car to get to school – etc…

How is the music education program at the University of North Texas?

6th December

I’m a future music Ed major, and I really like UNT, but I’ve heard mixed reviews from people. Some say that it’s a great place to go to school, but I’ve also heard that it’s not a very nurturing environment and that instead of investing in your education, they just sortof blow you off as long as you pay tuition. So if you know anything at all about UNT’s music program (particularly music Ed) then I’m all ears!! Thanks!

I studied music for a few semesters at a college in texas, and all you hear about is UNT. I’m not joking. I heard it from performers that would visit, our faculty and from general conversation with the students, so I’m going to go out on a limb and say its pretty good. But, the part about the school’s environment is true. I switched my major from music to business and I went to stay with some friends at the UNT campus to kind of get the feel of it. I didn’t like it, the campus looked like a large high school, plus I think there were more residential buildings than there were for academics. But, I did hear something about them getting a 70 Million dollar bond passed to update a few of the schools, so that, along with A very good music program means you should try and check it out for yourself.
